Terms & Conditions
Last updated 9 September 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to Links (the “App”). The App is owned and operated by LINKS SOCIAL UK LTD (“Links”, “we”, “us”, “our”). By creating an account, accessing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms & Conditions (the “Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. What the App does
Links is a social events and messaging app that lets users communicate, create and join events with friends and friends-of-friends, share event memories, and invite people to events. We may provide AI-powered suggestions (for example, event ideas, prompts, or recommendations) to help users plan and participate. The App may also show labelled sponsored venue suggestions, provider-run bookable activities, and real ticketed events submitted by third-party advertisers or event organisers.
3. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to use the App (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, if higher).
- You must provide accurate information and keep your account information up to date.
- You must not be prohibited from using the App under applicable laws.
4. Account registration and security
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity on your account.
- You agree not to share your account or impersonate others.
- We may require verification steps where reasonably necessary for security, integrity, or legal compliance.
5. Community rules (Code of Conduct)
To keep the App safe and usable, you agree that you will not:
- Harass, threaten, bully, stalk, or discriminate against others.
- Post or send illegal, harmful, or objectionable content, including violent/gory content, sexual exploitation, child sexual content, or content encouraging self-harm.
- Use the App for spam, scams, phishing, or fraudulent activity.
- Solicit or promote illegal goods/services, or facilitate criminal activity.
- Advertise a venue, event, service, or ticket offer that is illegal, unsafe, misleading, discriminatory, infringing, or that you are not authorised to promote.
- Attempt to access accounts, data, or systems you do not have permission to access.
- Reverse engineer, disrupt, overload, or interfere with the App’s operation or security.
- Use the App in a way that violates the rights of others, including privacy and intellectual property rights.
- Upload, post, or share someone else’s image, personal information, or private event details in a way that is unlawful, harmful, misleading, or inconsistent with their reasonable privacy expectations.
Users can block and report other users. We may investigate and take action at our discretion, including removing content, limiting features, suspending, or terminating accounts.
6. Events and user responsibilities
Users may create, share, and join events. You are responsible for your conduct and safety and for any arrangements you make with others. Links is not an events venue and does not control real-world interactions. Some suggestions are sponsored by a third-party venue or real-event host and will be identified in the App.
- Event accuracy: If you create an event, you must ensure the details you publish are accurate, lawful, and do not mislead others.
- Event location and local rules: Events may be shown by city or market. If you create, host, or attend an event, you are responsible for complying with applicable local laws, venue rules, age restrictions, licensing requirements, and tax/consumer obligations in the event location.
- Respect and safety: Behave responsibly. Use common sense and meet in safe environments. Avoid sharing sensitive personal information unnecessarily.
- Friends / friends-of-friends: Some events may be visible to or discoverable by friends-of-friends depending on your settings and the feature design. You are responsible for the audience you choose when posting or inviting.
6.1 External invite links and off-App RSVPs
- Invite links: Hosts may create invite links for people who are not yet using the App. You are responsible for sending invite links only to people you reasonably intend to invite and for not posting private invite links publicly unless you are comfortable with the resulting audience.
- External guests: People invited through an external link may be asked to provide their name and verify their phone number before seeing full event details or submitting an RSVP. This helps prevent duplicate RSVPs and protects event capacity.
- One RSVP per verified number: Unless the App says otherwise, each verified phone number may submit one RSVP for an external invite flow. We may reject, remove, or merge duplicate, suspicious, or abusive RSVPs.
- Existing users: If an invitee’s phone number is linked to an existing Links account, we may direct them to RSVP in the App instead of creating an external RSVP.
- Attendee lists: External guests who RSVP may appear in attendee or RSVP lists using the name and phone number they provide. External guest profiles may have limited functionality and may not open like full Links user profiles.
- Operational messages: We may send external guests operational messages related to the event, such as verification codes, RSVP confirmations, event updates, and reminders. These messages are not intended for marketing.
- Host responsibility: Hosts are responsible for making sure invite messages, event details, and attendee communications are accurate, lawful, and respectful. Do not use Links invite links for spam, harassment, scraping phone numbers, or unsolicited marketing.
6.2 Memories and post-event sharing
- Memories: The App may let users upload post-event memories, including photos and captions connected to an event.
- Your responsibility: You must only upload memories that you have the right to share. If a photo includes other people, you should consider whether they would reasonably expect it to be shared in the App.
- Visibility: You are responsible for the visibility setting you choose. Depending on your settings and App functionality, memories may be shown to friends, friends-of-friends, event attendees, or wider community/feed areas.
- No misuse: You must not post memories that are non-consensual, invasive, defamatory, harassing, sexually exploitative, discriminatory, unsafe, or otherwise unlawful.
- Removal: We may remove, hide, restrict, or report memories where we believe this is necessary for safety, legal compliance, user privacy, or platform integrity.
7. Paid events, ticketing, and platform fees
The App may allow event creators (“Creators” or “Organisers”) to sell tickets to events. Approved third-party event hosts may also list real events and sell tickets through our advertiser tools. We facilitate ticketing and payments through Stripe (including Stripe Connect). We may charge a commission or platform fee on tickets sold. Any fees, commission rates, and applicable taxes will be shown in the App at the time of set-up or purchase.
Event prices are generally displayed and charged in the currency associated with the event location where supported. Your bank, card issuer, wallet provider, or Stripe may apply exchange rates, conversion charges, or other fees if your payment method uses a different currency. Paid hosting and payout availability may vary by country while we expand supported markets.
7.1 Stripe and payment processing
- Payments are processed by Stripe. By buying tickets or connecting a payout account, you also agree to any applicable Stripe terms and policies.
- We do not store full payment card details or bank account details used for Stripe payouts. Stripe handles that information.
- Creators and third-party event hosts may need to complete Stripe Connect onboarding for the country associated with a paid event before they can sell tickets or receive payouts.
- We may store limited transaction metadata (e.g. ticket status, timestamps, event identifiers, Stripe references) to operate the service, provide support, and comply with accounting/legal obligations.
7.2 Creator payouts (including multiple owners)
Where supported, Creators may allocate ownership/splits among multiple owners. Payouts are subject to Stripe’s requirements, verification/KYC checks, and our fraud and compliance controls. Payout timing can vary due to processing, verification, dispute/chargeback handling, and platform risk review.
7.3 Disconnecting Stripe before payout (Creator responsibility)
If you are a Creator and you disconnect, delete, or deactivate your Stripe Connect account before outstanding funds have been paid out, Stripe may be unable to complete your payout.
In such cases, it is your responsibility to contact us at contact@links-social.co.uk and provide alternative payout details. We may request bank details and reasonable verification information to ensure funds are paid to the rightful owner(s), and we may delay payment where required for fraud prevention or legal compliance. We are not responsible for delays or losses caused by your failure to maintain an active Stripe payout account or to provide accurate payout details.
7.4 Refunds, cancellations, disputes, and chargebacks
- Event changes/cancellations: Creators are responsible for delivering the event and communicating changes or cancellations to attendees.
- Refunds: If a supported third-party host cancels its real ticketed event, Links refunds the official ticket face value. The completed booking service fee is retained except where applicable law requires otherwise. Other refund requests are governed by any policy shown before purchase and applicable consumer law. We may assist with refunds processed through Stripe where appropriate.
- Payment operations: Links is responsible for administering payment-processing fees, executing refunds through our payment provider, and responding to payment disputes and chargebacks. We may withhold or reverse the corresponding organiser payout where a ticket is refunded, disputed, charged back, fraudulent, or otherwise not payable.
7.5 Advertisers, sponsored suggestions, and third-party events
Advertiser access may require a verified email, business information, Stripe checks, and manual review. We may approve, reject, request changes to, pause, suspend, remove, or cancel a listing where reasonably necessary for quality, safety, law, policy, fraud, payment, or operational reasons.
- Listing accuracy and rights: Advertisers are responsible for accurate titles, descriptions, venue information, dates, availability, prices, age restrictions, licensing, consumer information, and links. You must own or have permission to use submitted names, images, branding, and other creative.
- Sponsored venue suggestions: A venue listing gives users an idea they can use to create their own social event. An advertiser may choose which supplied fields are fixed and which users may change. A user-created event is organised by that user and is not itself an official venue-hosted event unless clearly stated.
- Bookable activities: A provider may publish dated activity slots with a group capacity and a free or paid provider price. Creating or joining the linked social event does not reserve the provider slot, and the user host cannot add a separate social-event ticket price. A host books the provider slot separately and, for a paid activity, initially pays the complete provider booking and displayed service fee. Availability is only confirmed when booking completes. Before or after payment, a host may move the booking to another available compatible slot; the original slot is then released. The original buyer may cancel a booking within 24 hours after booking only when more than 24 hours remain before the activity starts. For a paid booking cancelled within that window, Links refunds the provider booking price and retains the completed booking service fee, except where applicable law requires otherwise. Cancelling an activity booking does not cancel the linked user-organised social event, and the host may make another available booking. Deleting the linked social event also cancels its activity booking; if a paid booking is outside the refund window, no refund is due.
- Activity cost sharing: After a paid activity is confirmed, the paying host may send fixed cost-share requests to the other hosts and attendees present at that time. Each recipient sees the amount and must explicitly choose to pay; selecting “split” does not automatically charge anyone. The participant set and amounts do not change when people later join or leave. The paying host remains responsible for unpaid shares, and any refund of the provider booking is returned to the original buyer, who is responsible for arranging any repayment owed to their group.
- Linked real events: For a ticketed third-party event, users may create separate social events linked to the same real event. The official venue, start time, and end time cannot be changed in those plans. Joining a social plan does not include admission; only a ticket bought through Links is an entry credential. Links does not recognise externally purchased tickets, although a person without a Links ticket may still join the social plan.
- Pausing and cancellation: Pausing promotion stops the sponsored placement but does not cancel a real event, invalidate existing tickets, or cancel confirmed activity bookings. Cancelling a real ticketed event invalidates its official tickets and starts refunds of each buyer’s ticket face value while retaining the completed service fee except where law requires otherwise. Linked user-organised social events remain active: we notify their hosts and attendees, and the user host may then cancel through the normal social-event process.
- Listing billing: Venue suggestions and free bookable activities may use listing budgets and qualifying-view pricing. Paid activity bookings and third-party ticket sales may use organiser commissions and buyer service fees. The current setup applies a 10% organiser commission to the provider or ticket price and adds an 8% buyer service fee shown at checkout. Any changed rates will be shown during setup or purchase. Delivered advertising spend may be non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated otherwise.
- Payouts and refunds: We may delay settlement until after an event and while refund, chargeback, fraud, moderation, or compliance checks remain open. Applicable commissions, fees, refunds, disputes, taxes, and payment-processing costs may be deducted where permitted.
- Reporting: Listing figures such as impressions, qualifying views, taps, shares, event creations, spend, reservations, and purchases may be delayed, filtered for abuse, deduplicated, estimated, or adjusted during reconciliation.
8. AI-powered suggestions
The App may provide AI-powered suggestions and assistance. Suggestions are provided “as is” and may be incomplete, inaccurate, or inappropriate in some contexts. You are responsible for verifying event details, messages, and decisions you make based on suggestions.
9. User content and permissions
“User Content” includes messages, event details, invite text, memories, photos, captions, comments, profile information, RSVP names, advertiser profiles, listing creative, venue/event materials, and other material you upload, submit, send, or make available through the App. You retain ownership of your User Content, but you grant Links a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute your User Content solely for the purpose of operating, improving, and providing the App (including displaying submitted sponsored suggestions, safety, moderation, and support).
You represent and warrant that you have all rights necessary to post your User Content and that it does not violate any law or third-party rights. You must not use the App to collect or disclose personal information about another person without a lawful and appropriate reason.
10. Reporting, blocking, and moderation
- Users may report and block other users. Blocking limits interactions as implemented in the App.
- We may remove content, memories, event listings, sponsored suggestions, listing materials, third-party event listings, invite links, RSVPs, comments, or messages, or restrict accounts, to enforce these Terms, protect users, comply with law, or maintain platform integrity.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts with or without notice where we reasonably believe there is a risk to users, the platform, or legal compliance.
- We may preserve reports, evidence, and related records where reasonably necessary for safety, investigation, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.
11. Data protection and privacy
Your use of the App is subject to our Privacy Policy. We store and process data using Google Firebase. If you choose to sync contacts, you consent to the collection and use of those contacts for friend-finding features, as described in the Privacy Policy. If you invite people outside the App, or if you RSVP through an external invite link, we may process names, phone numbers, RSVP status, verification data, reminder records, and related event information as described in the Privacy Policy. If you view or interact with sponsored suggestions, buy a third-party event ticket, or use advertiser tools, we may process listing analytics, advertiser details, ticket/payment records, moderation information, and settlement/refund records as described in the Privacy Policy.
We may retain certain records (including historical events and paid ticket records) even after account deletion for legitimate purposes such as accounting, fraud prevention, dispute handling, and maintaining event history.
12. Third-party services
The App may rely on third-party services (including Firebase/Google Cloud, Stripe, SMS/phone verification providers such as Twilio, email delivery providers, and fraud-prevention/CAPTCHA providers). We are not responsible for third-party services outside our control. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and policies.
13. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The App is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
Links facilitates messaging, event organisation, and ticketing features but does not control user behaviour or the real-world delivery of events. Sponsored suggestions and third-party events are submitted by advertisers or organisers; Links does not guarantee or control the venue, service, event delivery, availability, safety, quality, or legality. You agree that your interactions with other users, venues, advertisers, organisers, and attendance at events are at your own risk.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation). Subject to that, Links will not be liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, loss of data, or loss of goodwill, and our total liability will be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless LINKS SOCIAL UK LTD and its affiliates from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the App, or your infringement of any rights of another person.
15. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access at our discretion in line with these Terms, including for safety, misuse, or legal compliance. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including payment, indemnity, and limitation of liability) will survive.
16. Changes to the App or these Terms
We may update the App and these Terms from time to time. We will post updated Terms on this page and may notify you in-app where appropriate. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
17. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
18. Contact us
If you have questions about these Terms, contact us at contact@links-social.co.uk.
Note: These Terms are intended to be read alongside the Privacy Policy and our Child Safety Standards. If you sell tickets as a Creator, advertiser, or event organiser, you are responsible for complying with applicable advertising, consumer, ticketing, licensing, and tax laws in your jurisdiction.
